The Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernández will replace David García in the Spanish soccer team, injured on Sunday with Osasuna, in the Final Four of the League of Nations, in which “la Roja” will face Italy in the semifinals in search of repeat end.
The center-back David García was injured in the first minutes of the match that the Navarrese won on Sunday at El Sadar against Girona (2-1) and which earned them a place in the Conference League next season.
“After receiving the medical reports from the Navarrese entity, Luis de la Fuente has deemed it appropriate to summon Nacho Fernández for the aforementioned competition,” said the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
In this way, the defender from Madrid will join the concentration that will begin next Friday in the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas (Madrid). Spain will face Italy in the semifinals of the League of Nations next Thursday, June 15, in the Dutch town of Enschede (8:45 p.m.); the other duel faces, a day before and in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and Croatia.
