Nacho Palau's mother speaks from her residence after relapsed into lung cancer and suffering paralysis: “I need help for everything”

Shortly after Nacho Palau announced his cancer relapse, it was learned that his mother, Lola Medina, had been diagnosed again with the same disease. They had both overcome these battles a long time ago, but her health is delicate again. In fact, the sculptor's mother is in a wheelchair as a result of the radiation. She herself has spoken about it in an interview.

Medina has spoken with Pronto about his complicated situation, since, as a result of the complications in his treatment, has had to enter a residence. Her family cannot take care of her, since her paralysis makes her unable to carry out her routine normally.

“I am in a wheelchair because of the radiation that they gave me and with serious mobility problems. I want to walk again, we'll see if I can,” explains the Valencian's mother. Unfortunately, she doesn't know what his evolution will be like, since the doctors don't know “if he can recover.”

“This has happened to another woman and me, we are both the same. With how active I was…”, she laments, although she affirms that of his lung cancer is “better”: “I had surgery and everything went great. I was great, I was walking and I felt good, but now I find myself with this new problem.”

Medina does not want to be “pessimistic”, but he is aware that he needs help: “Nacho has to take care of my grandchildren, and my daughter has to take care of her daughter and go to work. They can't keep an eye on me. “I need help for everything, because I can't take care of myself.”

The disease returned to Medina's life last summer after the tumor was removed in August 2022. A diagnosis to which she reacted, in the words of her son, “fatal”, since “it had hit her hard.” Was María Eugenia Yagüe who confirmed the news on December 1. “She is in a nursing home and she is terrible. Because “They have radiated her badly and left her paralyzed,” he explained.

Nacho Palau, also sick

Nacho Palau also suffers from lung cancer again, which is in an advanced stage. Last spring he announced that he had overcome the disease, but, after feeling unwell again in the following months, things only got worse: he underwent surgery, but this last intervention was not enough to stop the progression of the disease. Miguel Bosé's ex suffers from metastasis.

“This summer I was diagnosed with cancer again,” he said on Telecinco. And he added: “There is a moment when you say: 'I can't take it anymore', I can't get out of this and for what?”
