Murthy recognizes in the audios the idea of bringing the Nou Mestalla case to justice

The president of Valencia, Anil Murthy, recognizes in one of the audios recorded without his permission at a meal with businessmen that the newspaper Superdeporte spread on Monday his intention to take the Generalitat Valenciana to trial for the Nou Mestalla.

Valencia acknowledged this Monday in a statement that the food existed, but assured that some of the audios have been adulterated.

“In the end, yes, I am going to speak to tell what is happening. (If I speak) before the meeting on Monday (finally it was a Wednesday) I am going to have problems. I prefer to go, that they tell me what they want. Always with a smile . ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you’. Then Germán Cabrera (Meriton’s lawyer in Spain) ‘thumb’. We are going to take the Generalitat to trial,” Murthy said in the recorded conversation.

“They want to stop it. Why? I have my ideas, I give you my opinion. After 13 years tomorrow we can put the cranes in because we have 80 million to start. that if we start they support, if it is stopped, let them stop”, added the Valencian president.

The recording took place on April 27, a few days before a delegation from Valencia, led by Murthy, attended the Generalitat to hold a meeting after which the representatives of the regional administration were surprised by the good reception that they had had their proposals to the club and after which the leader said that he saw the agreement “very close”.

After the Generalitat initiated the early expiration of the Strategic Territorial Action that was granted to the club in its day to finish the Nou Mestalla, the Consell offered the club the possibility of maintaining the urban benefits if it presented a solvent and financially guaranteed project, a requirement to which in that meeting it was added that it be a stadium similar to the one that was agreed upon in its day.

“The stadium has been there for a long time. I am not going to sell players to do this. If we sell players it is to buy others. The field has to be something viable. The idea was to sell Mestalla and take that money to start construction , but I have spoken with many funds and the big problem they have is legal insecurity with the City Council and the ATE,” Murthy said.

“If we want to do this project, give me an extension from the ATE, I’ll sell Mestalla and the next two days I’ll start with the cranes. Everything is arranged and I’ll start with football. I need guarantees, the IVF… CVC is a very big fund, no I know why they have to do a due diligence”, continued the Valencian leader.

Valencia CF was opposed from the beginning to the expiration of the ATE, it asked again in that meeting with the Generalitat to back down and it has never closed the door to file a complaint for that early expiration as it did in its day because it did not be granted an extension and rearrangement of its terms.
