MADRID, 11 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Mallorca beat Rayo Vallecano (2-1) and Getafe did the same (3-2) with RC Celta this Sunday on matchday 24 of LaLiga EA Sports, where Vedat Muriqi and Jaime Mata were the protagonists.
Muriqi was in doubt due to some discomfort but Javier Aguirre did not change him, with an even match, without a clear script until the 'pirate' appeared with a header in the 91st minute. Another last straw for Rayo, as they have been suffering lately.
Those from Vallecas seemed to have at least a tie, after Álvaro García made it 1-1 in an intense second half that put Antonio Sánchez in favor of the locals. The first half did not have much history, with a chance for Isi for the visitors.
The excitement grew and so did the tension, with the final 10 minutes of power to power and clashes even between the benches. Muriqi remembered his afternoons of glory to give three points to Mallorca, which represents six points with respect to relegation, while Rayo continues in a bad dynamic that leaves them only one more with the burning.
On the other hand, in the morning session, Getafe left Celta three points above the red zone with a goal from Mata in the 89th minute. The Coliseum vibrated with a game that seemed blue thanks to the goals from Borja Mayoral and Jaime Kill just before the break. Iago Aspas came to the rescue of the Galicians, but a final mistake at the back condemned the visitor's reaction to the south of Madrid.
With 20 minutes left came goals from Larsen and Tadeo Allende to make it 2-2. With everything up in the air, Getafe was smarter and Mata signed his own double at the back of his sleeve to settle José Bordalás's team in the middle of the table with 33 points.
