Munar and Bucsa take the first step in the Auckland and Adelaide qualifiers

MADRID, 6 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Jaume Munar won this Saturday in two sets (6-2 and 7-6) against the Czech Jiry Vesely in his debut in the preview of the Auckland tournament (Australia), while Cristina Bucsa also won without problems (6- 0 and 6-1) to the Australian Tahlia Kokkinis in the preview of the Adelaide tournament, so both will play this Sunday for a ticket to advance to the final draw.

Munar, number 52 in the ranking, did not have an easy debut with Vesely, in the previous thanks to the protected ranking and very powerful with his serve throughout the duel, connecting 13 'aces'. But the Spaniard knew how to respond, also impressive with an 81% success rate with the first serve, to finally win in just over an hour and a half by 6-2 and 7-6.

In the second round of the qualifying phase, with the ticket to the final draw at stake, Munar will face the Frenchman Luca Van Assche, who barely needed 53 minutes to get rid of the local Artem Sitak 6-1 and 6-1.

The also Spanish Bucsa enjoyed a much kinder debut in the Adelaide qualifier, against the local tennis player Kokkinis 6-0 and 6-1. The one from Torrelavega, number 61 in the WTA ranking at 26 years old, got rid of the Australian in less than an hour, converting 7 of the 10 break points that she enjoyed. This Sunday the pass to the main draw will be played against the Russian Anna Kalinskaya.
