Muguruza withdraws from Hobart due to a viral infection

MADRID, Jan. 16 (SportsFinding) –

Spanish tennis player Garbiñe Muguruza was forced to retire this Thursday from the Hobart tournament, scored for the WTA and prior to the Australian Open, for a viral infection with a high fever that prevented her from playing the quarterfinals.

As indicated by the press department of the double winner of 'Grand Slam', this came to have 39 degrees of fever because of a process that has been dragging since Monday night and that no longer allowed him to play the quarterfinal match final against the Russian Veronika Kudermotova.

“I'm sorry I can't play. I've been feverish for several days and this morning my body has said enough. I will rest all day at the hotel and I hope to travel to Melbourne tomorrow Friday to continue recovering. I hope to be able to play the Open from Australia. I want to thank all Hobart fans for their support and love, I hope to return soon, “Muguruza said in statements provided by his press department.

The former world number will travel to Melbourne this Friday and will try to train for the first time on Saturday at Melbourne Park where the Australian Open will be held, the first 'Grand Slam' of the year, for which it must be recovered before next Monday.
