The goals of Gareth Bale (from penalty), Son and Dele Alli (also from maximum penalty) did not allow José Mourinho's Tottenham to win at LASK Linz on Thursday, but they did take a point and qualify for the Europa League round of 32 (3-3).
LASK started the game very strongly and had three clear chances, including a shot from Johannes Eggestein off the post. The Spurs were not comfortable and in the end the Linz team was able to take advantage of their good game when Peter Michorl scored from a shot from distance, in a play in which Joe Hart, Tottenham goalkeeper, could perhaps do something more. It was the 42nd minute.
Mourinho's men reacted immediately because there was a penalty in their favor by Andrade at the limit of the first half. In minute 5 of the discount, Bale transformed the maximum penalty returning equality to the scoreboard.
Son Heung-min put Tottenham ahead by culminating a counterattack in the 56th minute. Ndombélé served the South Korean with a deep pass and Son scored with the right. Eggestein, however, leveled with his goal in another not entirely successful intervention by Joe Hart.
Mourinho sent Dele Alli out with only 8 minutes to go and the English international scored the Spurs' third in minute 87 by changing the maximum penalty committed on Eric Dier. But LASK had not yet said their last word and Mamoudou Karamoko tied with a great shot at discount.
