José Mourinho is about to close the signing of the center forward he wants to complete his project at Tottenham. As reported Football london, the chosen one is the Brazilian Carlos Vinicius, 25, a Benfica footballer. The negotiations are well advanced and work is underway to complete them before the end of the market. Only a few fringes are missing. The option that the London club is considering is an assignment for this campaign, with a mandatory purchase option when the loan ends. The final amount to be paid for the transfer is what is delaying the final agreement between both clubs. As well as whether or not that purchase option has to be mandatory. As noted from England, Tottenham would have to pay about € 40M, in Portugal they speak of 45, if they want to stay with the Brazilian in the future.
With the arrival of the 'other' Vinicius, like his namesake of the Real Madrid footballer, Mourinho finally gets the attacker he was claiming throughout the transfer market, as he did not have a replacement for Harry Kane on the squad.
Carlos Vinicius is a fast attacker and with ease in scoring goals, although with a late explosion. Of great qualities, no one suspected that he was going to have this evolution. He has 24 goals in 49 games at Las Águilas in just one season, as he arrived from Naples in the summer of 2019 in exchange for € 17M. Carlos Vinicius jumped into European football from the modest Gremio Esportivo Anápolis heading to Portuguese Real SC in 2017. His career has been meteoric, since in 2018 he signed for Naples in exchange for € 4M, which he immediately gave first to Rio Ave and then to Monaco (2 goals in 16 games). It was in the Liga NOS where he has given the best performance, both at Rio Ave (14 goals in 20 games) and later at Benfica. In Naples he has not played in an official match.
Some scoring figures that have attracted the attention of many European clubs but lhe needs of Mourinho have led Tottenham to take the initiative and anticipate last minute surprises. A good deal for Benfica.
