Morocco signs a historic victory against Brazil

MADRID, 26 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Brazilian team, without the injured Neymar, fell this morning against Morocco (2-1) in their first game with Ramon Menezes as interim coach, a friendly duel in which Walid Regragui’s men continued their great moment of form.

The ‘canarinha’, now without Tite at the controls after the debacle in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar, wasted an unbeatable opportunity to take the lead in the 13th minute in a point-blank shot from Rony. Noussair Mazraoui responded with a shot from the edge that went wide, before Bono made a statement with a double save on shots from Rony and Andrey Santos.

The brand-new fourth-ranked World Cup player was saved once again by an action by Vinícius in which the lineman raised the flag for offside, just before Sofiane Boufal, on the turn, sent the ball to the left corner after a magnificent combination with Bilal El Khannouss to make it 1-0 (min.29).

Three minutes after the restart, a volley from Rodrygo led to an attractive save by the Sevilla goalkeeper, who missed on 67 minutes by allowing a long shot from Casemiro to slip under his body. However, Abdelhamid Sabiri did not allow Bono’s mistake to be decisive, and with a volley shot he sealed the African victory (min.79).
