More than fifty people walk the Camino de Santiago this weekend thanks to the Also Foundation

MADRID, 12 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Fundación Also, with the support of the AON Foundation, Irene Villa Foundation and ‘ALSA’, will facilitate more than fifty people, with and without disabilities, to do the Camino de Santiago from this Friday until next Sunday with a route of more than 60 kilometers divided into five stages and departing from the Lugo town of Palas del Rei.

As reported by the Also Foundation, which has been carrying out this activity since 2004, among the participants will be Irene Villa, a member of its Adapted Ski and Snowboard Competition Team, who will do the route by handbike and who this year is also the godmother of the Santiago’s road.

Along with her, the young Cantabrian ‘influencer’ ‘Superlu’, who fights by raising her voice in favor of overcoming barriers for people with disabilities by telling what happens to her on a daily basis through her profile on ‘Instagram’ , or the actor Jesús Lago, recognized for his work in the films ‘Campeones’ and ‘CampeonesX’.

All of them will be accompanied by the Os do Monte Bravo cycling club, which, together with the volunteers of ‘AON Foundation’ and the technical team of ‘Fundación Too’, provide very important support for the support of these pilgrims.

“Participation in sports activities and the possibility of sharing these experiences with others improves the self-perception of the person with disabilities regarding their possibilities and raises their self-esteem, a fundamental psychological process in the task of personal improvement,” recalls Teresa Silva, president and founder of the Also Foundation.

The expedition plans to arrive around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 15, at the Plaza del Obradoiro in Santiago de Compostela, where it will be received by the general director of People with Disabilities of the Department of Social Policy and Youth of the Xunta de Galicia, Begoña.
