More than 2,500 participants participate in A Coruña in the Central Dairy Asturian Women’s Race

MADRID, 17 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Zelinda Spencer Conceiçao has won this Sunday in the Central Asturian Milk Women’s Race in A Coruña, the third appointment of the national circuit after Valencia and Vitoria-Gasteiz, and which has gathered 2,500 participants in a ‘Pink Tide’ that has traveled five kilometers starting and finishing at the Paseo de O Perrote.

The runner, a regular at the top of this race, stopped the clock at 19:17 to take the victory ahead of Inés Papín (20:08) and Uxía García (20:16), fourth in 2019. Ángela Torrente and Agueda Ramírez have completed the ‘Top 5’.

Before the start, the 2,500 participants joined in the emotional tribute to the Galician athlete Belén Toimil, an Olympian in Tokyo, a finalist in the European Indoor Championships in Torun, and a national women’s weight record of 18.80 meters. In addition, the canoeist Teresa Portela, silver in Tokyo 2020, has participated in the race as an ambassador for Banco Santander along with the former Spanish international handball player Eli Pinedo.

A large number of representatives from ACADAR A Coruña, a local NGO with which the organization collaborates, have also participated, and a moment of silence has been given in memory of the runner Pilar Marquiz, from the Sada Athletics Club.

In addition to the spirit of solidarity and the contributions of the runners and the organization to various entities and NGOs (Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer, Wanawake Mujer, Pulseras Rosas, Clara Campoamor or the local foundation Asamma), all the participants have worn the number 016 ( helpline for victims of sexist violence and that does not leave a mark on the telephone bill) together with this year’s motto of the Pink Tide: ‘For all of us’, as a tribute to the resilience capacity shown by the whole of society during the pandemic.

The Central Lechera Asturiana 2021 Women’s Race has the main sponsorship of Central Lechera Asturiana, Oysho, Zurich Seguros and Banco Santander, the support of Michelin, TotalEnergies, Ladival, Marlene and Solán de Cabras, and the collaboration of the City Council of A Coruña .
