More than 10.5 million people watched the Morocco-Spain match on ‘La 1’

The match of the Spanish team against Morocco on Tuesday in the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar brought together an average of 10,512,000 viewers on ‘La 1’ on Spanish Television, a 62.4 percent audience share.

As reported by RTVE on Wednesday, the decisive penalty shootout that ended up costing La Roja the elimination had 12,609,000 viewers (70 percent share), which made it the most of the entire championship and of the year on television, and the most watched on television since the Eurocup penalties in July 2021.

The extension also aroused the interest of viewers, with a figure of 11,946,000 viewers (68 percent share), while a total of 17,381,000, 38 percent of the population, watched the retransmission at some point on ‘La 1’, including the previous broadcast
and after the meeting.

These data made the leading public channel on Tuesday, with a 27.3 share, its best daily data in the last eleven years, specifically since May 3, 2011, when it achieved 27.5 with the
broadcast of the Champions League semifinal between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

For its part, ‘RTVE Play’ recorded a historical record of views with more than 5.2 million (5,284,248) and the match was seen live on the platform by 1,521,524 viewers, who made 4,280,087 views. the different signals emitted.

On the other hand, RTVE also released the data from Croatia-Japan on Monday, whose penalty shootout brought together 3,493,000 viewers (32.1) in ‘La 1’. The game was followed by an average of 2,197,000 (20.1) and in extra time, it rose to 2,951,000 (27.6).
