More problems for Lleida Esportiu

Lleida Esportiu’s situation is only getting worse. Last November 21 and December 5, dates corresponding to the matches against Terrassa and SD Ejea, several fans of the Catalan team, called by the club itself as “ultra group”, decided to invade the pitch as a show of support for the squad. The why? Lleida Esportiu, which is bankrupt, currently has complaints from its players, as well as from the AFE, for non-payments and alleged irregularities with the Social Security. The club published a statement indicating the ultra group that had carried out these acts, announcing that it would take measures in this regard together with the RFEF. The first of them took place in the match corresponding to matchday 16 of the Second RFEF, a match that the ilerdenses played at the Camp d’Esports against CD Brea this saturday afternoon.

“Lleida Esportiu informs that it has already been communicated to the RFEF Integrity and Security Department that as the safety and smooth running of the sporting event cannot be guaranteed (…), it will be held behind closed doors “, reported the Catalan team through social networks. The problem is that the first news that its rival, the CD Brea, has had in this regard has also been through social networks. As you may have learned AS, the Aragonese team had not been officially communicated the dispute of the match behind closed doors. “CD Brea regrets having found out about this unilateral decision of the Catalan club through social networks 5 hours after the match”, denounces the visiting team on social networks. The fact that Lleida Esportiu made this decision without consulting CD Brea has caused many fans of the Aragonese team to have already traveled to Lleida to see their team at the Camp d’Esports.

The problems are accumulating for the ilerdense club, and it is that both the local fans and the Lleida Esportiu players themselves could take measures in this regard. The party, to which finally The four directors of CD Brea who were going to be accredited to witness it from inside the stadium have not been able to attendIt had to have a wide security deployment organized by the Urban Guard and the Mossos d’Esquadra.

However, several groups of fans have announced on social media that they are going to try to storm the field. one of those groups has managed to enter the stadium without any problem to stand on one of the side stands and deploy a banner that read “Pel Lleida, per Lleida” (by Lleida, by Lleida) with an image of the crossed out face of former president Albert Esteve. Likewise, the Lleida Esportiu squad could make some kind of claim during the match dispute due to the ruinous economic situation they have experienced for several months.

While in this case CD Brea has had to find out through the social networks of the ilerdense team that its fans, some still on their way to Lleida, will not be able to access the Camp d’Esports, facing the next matches, Lleida Esportiu It states in its latest statement that “the entity continues to work on the security plan to guarantee that the next day on the sports field, next January, is carried out with the maximum guarantees.” That is why the Aragonese have wanted to show their support on social networks to the local fans. “By last, We send a lot of encouragement to the fans of Lleida Esportiu in these difficult and complicated moments that, unfortunately, they are having to live. Football, without fans, is not football “, concludes the message issued by CD Brea.
