Montijo welcomes Mérida AD to its fiefdom

On the next day of the Second RFEF, the sixteenth, Montijo and Mérida will meet.

Montijo faces with reinforced spirits for the match of the sixteenth day after achieving victory in their field by 3-1 against Don Benito, with goals from Segovia, Eduard Calin and Julio Rodao. Since the competition began, the locals have won seven of the 15 games played to date and add a streak of 15 goals scored against 15 goals conceded.

For their part, Mérida AD was defeated 1-0 in the last match they played against Villanovense, so a win against Montijo would help them improve their career in the competition. Before this match, Mérida AD had won in five of the 15 games played in the Second RFEF this season and accumulated a figure of 13 goals conceded against 18 in favor.

In reference to the performance in their stadium, Montijo has a balance of five wins, one loss and two draws in eight games played in their stadium, which means that they are not taking advantage of home games to add a good point income to their pocket. Away from home, Mérida AD have been beaten twice and have drawn twice in their eight games so far, making them quite a strong opponent away from home that the hosts will have to face.

Currently, both teams are separated in the standings by three points in favor of Montijo. Juan Marrero’s team enters the game in sixth position and with 23 points before the game. As for the visiting team, Mérida AD, is in ninth position with 20 points.
