French striker Karim Benzema and the Croatian midfielder could be ready for this Sunday’s visit to Girona FC’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, while Uruguayan midfielder Fede Valverde has it more complicated.
As indicated by the Madrid team on its website, the ‘9’, who was absent last weekend against Sevilla and on Tuesday against RB Leipzig in the Champions League to recover better, did the first part of the training session this Friday with the group, a good sign for his return that, in any case, still has to be confirmed this Saturday.
For his part, Valverde, who suffered a severe blow against Sevilla that made him leave the field of play and not play at the RB Arena, trained alone on and on the pitch, so everything indicates that he will be out against the Catalan team.
Also training with the group throughout the session were both Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, who was out at the last minute against RB Leipzig, and Andalusian Dani Ceballos, who had been out since the beginning of October due to a muscle problem.
This Friday’s training was marked by the visit made by the president of the club, Florentino Pérez, who underwent a lung operation last Tuesday. The manager greeted the players and coaching staff of the Madrid first team.
