‘Mo’ Katir and ASICS launch charity poem to encourage exercise

Throughout June, each time it is played on Spotify, 5 euros will be donated to the Spanish Mental Health Confederation

MADRID, 20 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish athlete Mohamed ‘Mo’ Katir, silver and bronze in the 2022 European and World Championships in 5,000 and 1,500 meters, and the sports brand ASICS have launched the poem ‘Nothing Feels Better’ for charity purposes and to inspire Spaniards to practice of exercise because it improves physical health and mental well-being.

Celebrating Global Running Day, ASICS have teamed up with Mo Katir and producer Auntie Flo to create a poem to inspire more Spaniards to get moving.

The collaboration arose in response to new research carried out by the brand, which revealed that the nation’s mental well-being continues to decline, with a ‘State of Mind’ score in Spain having fallen to a level of 66.6 out of 1002 .

Exercise is proven to improve mental well-being, and an ASICS study revealed that 15 minutes and 9 seconds of exercise can have a positive impact on the mind.

However, more than half of Spaniards admit that they are not regulars in the physical exercise recommended by the Ministry of Health, which has led ASICS to take measures and help raise the spirits of Spaniards through movement .

Of all respondents who say they need something to encourage them to start exercising, 43 percent turn to music for motivation to move.

So ASICS, in collaboration with Mo Katir and Auntie Flo, have created a new track, on Spotify, based on a poem titled ‘Nothing Feels Better’, composed to inspire more people to get up, get out there and raise money for the Spanish Confederation of Mental Health.

Every time the poem is played on Spotify, 5 euros will be donated to said charity. The poem written by Mo Katir is based on the words of thousands of people around the world who have shared how it feels to move.

Use the positive emotions of others to inspire more people to take the first step. This is complemented by a rhythmic composition by renowned producer Auntie Flo, who has incorporated scientifically proven sonic techniques to awaken feelings of motivation and joy.

These techniques include the use of a beat per minute (bpm) that mimics the rhythm and time signature of movement, chord progressions, and incorporating the 111 Hz frequency, known as the ‘sacred frequency’.

“I have composed the poem inspired by the feelings that thousands of people expressed after exercising. What it brings them to achieve an Anima Sana in Corpore Sano along with the tune of Auntie Flo.
With which, with each reproduction, 5 euros will be donated to the CESM, with which ASICS has been associated since 2021,” Katir commented.

Producer Brian d’Souza, also known as Auntie Flo, said the challenge these days is getting people out in the open and moving. “Exercise is very important not only for our physical health, but also for our mental health, so it’s been great working with ASICS and Mo Katir to create something that can really inspire people to get out and move. Turning a poem into music was a great challenge,” he confessed.
