Mirandés beat Zaragoza with two goals from Marqués

Mirandés began 2022 with a victory over Real Zaragoza (2-0) overcoming adversity and with a squad in which there were several casualties due to covid positives.

The initial goal by Marqués together with the expulsion of Vara made the game go uphill for Nacho Martínez’s team against a team that played very interesting football, first in contention and then offensive despite the absences.

Zaragoza became the owner of the match, with a Mirandés very involved in his field and going through serious difficulties with many bad occasions.

Roro Riquelme and Marqués woke up Mirandés, putting Lolo Escobar’s team ahead after a change of pace by the player on loan from Atlético de Madrid, which enabled Marqués to head at pleasure.

With the game tense, Vada starred in a play in which he ended up expelled for an attack on Capellini, which left Nacho Martínez’s men with ten but they were still superior.

After passing through the changing rooms, the game was much more dynamic and unpredictable, with a local team that tried to increase the score by counterattacks and was gaining ground at Zaragoza.

In fact, first the crossbar and then the stick deprived the jabatos of the second goal twice and in the other goal, Lizoain saved Zaragoza’s best chance in the second half.

Marqués sentenced the game taking advantage of a ball centered by the side Sergio Carreira, in a failure of the defense skill that in the final stretch was overcome by the fatigue of being with ten players.

The wild boars begin in 2022 marked by the pandemic but also winning and forgetting the bad streak with which the first round ended, three days before the match against Rayo Vallecano in the Copa del Rey.
