Milan becomes strong in London to go to the quarterfinals

The Italian team achieved a meritorious draw (0-0) against Tottenham with which they made good the 1-0 first leg at San Siro

MADRID, 8 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Italian Milan achieved this Wednesday the pass to the quarterfinals of the Champions League after getting a worked tie (0-0) against the English Tottenham in London, with which the 1-0 victory of the first leg was good. in San Siro.

The Italian team, who knew how to defend the short income of a goal achieved in the Italian fiefdom thanks to an early goal from Malaga’s Brahim Díaz, controlled a duel in which the ‘rossoneri’ did not suffer too much and in which they had the best chances to return to the quarterfinals of the competition 11 years after losing to FC Barcelona.

The Serie A champion, who came to the clash after losing in the previous league game against Fiorentina (2-1), delved into the bad form of the ‘Spurs’, who added their third consecutive defeat among all competitions after the two harvested against Sheffield United, in the FA Cup, and Wolwerhampton, in the Premier.

At Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London traffic prevented AC Milan from arriving on time for a match that had to start ten minutes late. The Italian team took to the pitch with clear ideas, at times deactivating the game plan of the locals. Even so, the passing of the minutes finished equalizing a clash that did not find an owner in the middle of the field.

Junior Messias, who was unable to finish off a good strategic move between the three sticks after a free kick taken on the edge of the area, had in his boots the first and only chance with danger of a first half that came to an end without much pain or glory for neither of the two teams.

After the restart, Tottenham gave the clash another point of intensity that led them to dominate the first moments of the second half. However, the appearance of Brahim once again gave wings to a Milan that entrusted itself to its ’10’ to take full control of the game and lead the ‘rossoneri’ attack.

Although Tottenham tried desperately, the most dangerous occasions continued to be for the visitors. The Spanish attacker and Rafael Leao were a pain in the ass for a local defense that saw the tie become even more complicated at minute 77. Romero’s expulsion for a hard challenge on Theo Hernández ended up deciding a clash that came to an end with a good header from Harry Kane that Maignan saved and with Origi’s subsequent shot at the post on the counter.
