The American scored the slalom in Are (Sweden) to break the absolute record in the Stenmark World Cup since 1989

The American skier Mikaela Shiffrin conquered this Saturday the slalom of the Alpine Ski World Cup in Are (Sweden) to surpass the absolute record of victories held by the Swede Ingemar Stenmark since 1989.
The American had matched the historic mark on Friday with her victory in the giant and a day later she was left alone as the best in this sport. Shiffrin had already left behind the 82 wins of her compatriot Lindsey Vonn and she beat a Stenmark this Saturday who added all her successes between 1974 and 1989.
The American, who will turn 28 next Monday, took the historic victory with a time of 1:41.77, 0.92 better than the Swiss Wendy Holdener. Shiffrin was just 12 years old this Saturday since her debut in the World Cup and in Are she signed her first victory in 2012, Swedish territory where she dethroned the local Stenmark.
