Miguel Carballeda, president of the Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE) between 2004 and 2024, will become a life member of the General Assembly, as provided for in the statutes and as the entity announced this Monday after the first ordinary General Assembly after the election of Alberto Durán as the new president on October 24.
The meeting of the highest governing body of the CPE has also approved the creation of the fourth vice presidency, which is now occupied by Julián Rebollo, president of the Spanish Sports Federation of People with Cerebral Palsy and Acquired Brain Injury. The position of treasurer of the CPE, which until now was held by Rebollo, was assumed after the meeting by Olga Recalde, manager and general secretary of the same federation.
The General Assembly, which was chaired by Infanta Doña Elena as Honorary President and which had the participation of the president of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), Alejandro Blanco, and the president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes has also learned about the reports on the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the entity’s income expected for the 2025-2028 cycle and the expected closing of the operating account for the year that now ends in 2024.
Likewise, next March has been set as the deadline for the approval and implementation of the ADOP plan for the year 2025, waiting for the scenario of the General State Budgets to be cleared for the next year, which will allow athletes continue with their training plans with a horizon of stability.
