Miguel Brizuela, defender of Vélez, denounced for gender violence

Miguel Brizueladefense of Velez Sarsfield, was denounced this Sunday by a case of gender violence on his girlfriend Melina Nieto, that generated the application of a perimeter restriction for 90 days and may be removed from the club's staff for an indefinite period.

The player, who played two games in the Argentine Soccer First Division, has a complaint based in the Buenos Aires town of San Miguel for giving “a fist bump to his partner's left eye and causing a bruise” after an argument.

Then, according to the complaint, the defense “abandoned the house where they lived together seven months ago while intoxicated,” and according to reports on social networks. Gisela Roldán, mother of the victim, Brizuela exercised “verbal and psychological abuse for months” on her daughter.

The Club Gender Department activated the protocol of gender violence and contacted the victim in addition to suggesting that the player will be removed from the professional squad with the possibility of leaving him free despite having signed his contract renewal until June 30, 2023.
