Rolling Stones lead singer, Mick Jagger, 79, has become engaged to girlfriend Mel Hamrick, 36, after fathering their eighth child. The living rock legend plans to marry his girlfriend, 43 years his junior.
Mick Jagger y Mel Hamrick met in 2014 and they share a six-year-old son named Deveraux. The former dancer has confessed to her friends that it is true that she is getting married but that when the singer asked her last month and offered her the engagement ring, she took it as a joke and even found it funny.
“Melanie was at the American Ballet Theater and was telling her friends that she was engaged to Mick,” says a source quoted by the Mirror. “She was very clear that her ring is an engagement ring and she is now her fiancée,” she adds. “The families already know that they are engaged, excited and that there will be a wedding.” Mel had previously denied being engaged when asked after she was seen wearing her engagement ring on her finger.
This is the third engagement for Mick, who married for the first time in 1971, 52 years ago, with Bianca Pérez Mora Macías, later known as Bianca Jagger, with which he had Jade Jagger. They divorced seven years later and that same year Mick married the supermodel Jerry Hall. They celebrated their unofficial marriage, in Bali, Indonesia, in 1990, before separating nine years later.
Mick has four more children with his ex-partner Jerry: Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel. In 1999 he had Lucas, the result of his affair with the Brazilian model and television presenter Luciana Gimenez.
