Mestalla prepares a scarf to support Diakhaby in the 12th minute against Espanyol

The match between ‘ches’ and ‘pericos’ is declared high risk

MADRID, 27 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Association of Small Shareholders of Valencia CF (APAVCF) has indicated this Saturday that it will support the French-Guinean defender Mouctar Diakhaby during the 12th minute of the ‘ches’ match against RCD Espanyol, for the 37th round of LaLiga Santander, at the Mestalla Stadium.

In a press release, the APAVCF has made “an appeal to the fans to come to the stadium” this Sunday (7:00 p.m.) in a vital duel for remaining in the First Division, as well as for them to collaborate in this campaign to support Diakhaby “before the attack of racism” suffered by him recently.

Diakhaby himself refused, before a league match against RCD Mallorca, to pose next to a banner with the slogan ‘Racists, out of football’. As a sign of protest, not having felt backed by the authorities when he was insulted last season, Diakhaby did not take his photo with said sign on the pitch at Son Moix.

The display of this banner is part of a campaign against racism that has been launched jointly by the Higher Sports Council (CSD), LaLiga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), as a result of the enormous controversy experienced on the past 21 May by the Brazilian Vinícius Jr., striker for Real Madrid, precisely in Mestalla.

Not surprisingly, the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport has already declared the duel between Valencia and Espanyol a high risk on a penultimate day that will be a heart attack to escape relegation to Second Division.
