MADRID, 30 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The MEP of the Renovar Europa group (Renew Europe) Izaskun Bilbao Barandica, the director of Women and Sport programs of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), Natalia Flores, and the Communication director of the Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE), Luis Leardy, They will debate this Monday in Madrid on sport, equality and inclusion.
Under the title ‘The future is in your hands: sport, equality and inclusion’, Izaskun Bilbao, Natalia Flores and Luis Leardy will participate in the Informative Meeting on the occasion of the Conference on the Future of Europe (COFOE), organized by the Europa agency Press in collaboration with the European Parliament, which will take place (10:00 a.m.) at the Meeting Place Auditorium in the Spanish capital.
Inequality between men and women and the integration of people with disabilities in the world of sport continue to be a challenge in grassroots sport and, even more so, in professional sport. For this reason, the speakers will explain how the European institutions, the Government and the Paralympic Committee are working to reduce this gap in the near future.
Strengthening the participation of people with disabilities with the help of sports organizations, working on stereotypes and promoting greater representation of women in management positions will be some of the issues to be debated in this forum that inaugurates an itinerant cycle of meetings that will visit 6 cities in Spain: Madrid, Seville, Valencia, Bilbao, Valladolid and Barcelona.
These meetings will deal with issues such as immigration, climate change, ‘New Generation’ funds, health and, among others, digital transformation, and in them it is important to listen to the voice of the youngest, because they are the ones who are going to build the future community model.
The next meeting included in the COFOE framework, under the title ‘The future is in your hands. Immigration: a European response’, will be held on February 11, starting at 10 am, at the Cajasol Foundation headquarters in Seville.
The event will feature the participation of the Andalusian Councilor for Equality, Social Policies and Conciliation, Rocío Ruiz Domínguez; the president of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs of the European Parliament, Juan Fernando López Aguilar; and the regional head of Immigration of the Red Cross in Andalusia, Ignacio Romero Molina.
