Memphis Depay: “I come to Barça to win many titles”

Memphis Depay is about to fulfill his dream of playing for FC Barcelona. This noon, the Dutch international landed at El Prat airport to start his new adventure, as witnessed by the official media of the club that registered his arrival in Barcelona. The forward will have to pass a PCR test before being under Ronald Koeman. The idea is that on Wednesday he will be in the stands of Johan Cruyff to see the first friendly match of the preseason against Nàstic and that on Thursday he will be presented as a new Barcelona player with the presence of President Joan Laporta.

Depay spoke for Barça Tv after successfully passing the medical examination: “I come to Barcelona to win many titles. I am very happy and I really want to go to Camp Nou and meet everyone who is part of Barça. Koeman gave me confidence when I was injured and saw me recover. He has supported me to come. here, to the biggest club in the world, and I'm ready to do my best. “

Internationals Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araújo, Clement Lenglet and Antoine Griezmann will also join this Tuesday, the latter two with the folder open regarding their future. Remember that Depay is an express request from Ronald Koeman. The player was about to sign last summer, but finally the operation was frustrated because there was no time to register him due to adjustment problems in the salary bill. Now, the forward, who arrives without costing the club a euro after having finished his contract with Olympique Lyon, will sign a two-season contract, until June 30, 2023.

Depay is an attacker with a lot of dynamism and combinatorial capacity in the game, apart from his great scoring potential, which has exploded especially in this last season, so everything indicates that he will adapt like a glove to the Blaugrana game. He will also share a dressing room with another brilliant signing in the attack like the Argentine Sergio Agüero. The two arrive at Barcelona with the challenge of accompanying Leo Messi, who by the way has not yet renewed, and increasing the offensive potential of the team.
