In the absence of a day, Spain has 11 medals and 9 places for the Paris 2024 Games

The Spanish team left this Sunday the good performance of Melani Berges and Gara Fuentes in the 200 meters T12, in a day without medals in the World Paralympic Athletics Championships in Paris, where with one day to go Spain has 11 medals and 9 places for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
In the 200 meters T12 (visually impaired) there was triple Spanish participation in the previous round. Melani Berges-Sergio Díaz and Gara Fuentes-Jorge Gutiérrez managed to qualify for the semifinals on Monday at 9:40, while Nagore Folgado-Javier Zaplana (bronze medalist in the 100m) will not be in the final, who suffered an injury during the race.
Meanwhile, Paula Heras, in shot put F12 (visually impaired), had a good competition, getting eighth place with a mark of 9.82. Also in shot put, in this case F56 (physical disability), David Fernández achieved tenth position with a mark of 11.99.
On the other hand, the Alba García-Diego Folgado duo failed to qualify for the final in the 200 meters T11 (total blinds) after finishing third in the semifinal, stopping the clock at 26’55.
Spain has eleven medals with one day to go: two golds for Yassine Ouhdadi and Adiaratou Iglesias, four silvers for Ouhdadi, Iglesias, Gerard Descarrega-José María Marvizón and Sara Andrés, and five bronzes for Joan Munar, Álvaro del Amo ( two), Judith Tortosa and Nagore Folgado-Javier Zaplana.
In addition, the national delegation has already won nine qualifying places for the Paris 2024 Games, seven of them nominal for Yassine Ouhdadi, Adiaratou Iglesias, Gerard Descárrega, Sara Andrés, Joan Munar, Álvaro del Amo and Nagore Folgado.
