Melamed gets the bills

Despite his youth, Nico Melamed plays football like few others at Espanyol. Always upright, daring, endowed with a devastating change of pace and a good finish, he also has a good eye for identifying the quality of his rivals. A great one like the Real that does not scare Melamed, who affirms that “We will play the same as against Elche or Huesca, with the motivation to achieve victory”. To do this, they have “player number 12”, the fans, key in the start of the course: “It is the explanation of our good performance at home”. The numbers at home, where the Blue and White team have added 80% of the points, are clear: “We also have great players. At home we are better or we have had that willpower against big teams”.

Number 21 commented that they want to take advantage of the “rage” of the derby to beat Real Sociedad, although they have already turned the page after that controversial 1-0 by Leandro Cabrera’s penalty to Memphis Depay: “We left it behind, we are psyched up and we go with the ambition to win against Real Sociedad. We had a good match and we did our best”. Melamed explained that “We believed ourselves superior, we wanted to win it.”

The footballer, for the moment, is alternating some titles (four) with the role of revulsive (“That stands out about me”). His ability to adapt in a grassroots football in which he has always played in higher categories is his best guarantee: “I have been able to adapt to all categories, I was promoted quickly, and this year it is the same. I will know how to do it. I am feeling more comfortable. The rivals are more physical and have a very high quality. I want to get used to it”, settled.
