Meghan dazzles Hollywood with her word of honor and her diamonds in the tribute to her daughter’s godfather

Meghan Markle shined during a solo red carpet appearance Wednesday to support her friend, comedian Tyler Perry, at The Paley Honors gala in Beverly Hills. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, was the undisputed star of the evening in a strapless black number that included a slit in the front, paired with strappy black heels. The event took place at the iconic Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

An exquisite diamond necklace stood out on her neck. Her jet black hair was pulled back into a relaxed bun, while delicate makeup highlighted her features. Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, 40 — who recently stated that they do not plan to return to the United Kingdom — were part of the event’s hosting committee, although Lady Di’s son was not present on the red carpet. The star of Suits was in attendance to support Perry, 55, as the Paley Center for Media celebrated the visionary director, actor and philanthropist with a unique tribute to his career. Perry was also awarded the Paley Honors Award during the evening.

The actress and her husband have a close friendship with the billionaire filmmaker, who is the godfather of their three-year-old daughter, Lilibet. In September, Meghan and Harry attended Perry’s exclusive birthday party with Oprah. The Sussexes have lately opted for separate public appearances, allowing them to do more individual activities: although both were at the event this Wednesday, only the Duchess posed for photographers. The comedian who is godfather to Harry and Meghan’s daughter once claimed that he was Markle’s “therapist” after leaving the royal family, and was the millionaire who offered them his house in Santa Barbara when they moved to the United States.
