“Mbappé’s goal? Shit for us”

Toni Kroos came clean again on his podcast “Einfach mal Luppen”. The German Real Madrid footballer and his brother Felix published the ninth episode in which they talk about the 0-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.

The German played the 90 minutes at the Parc des Princes in a match in which the Whites tried to defend the best possible result, prioritizing so much behind that they did not shoot on goal. After Messi missed a penalty, Mbappé managed with a remarkable maneuver to score the only goal of the game.

That goal was described as “shit” for the team by Toni himself. “The match didn’t go well, but we saw 0-0 as a victory. You can say we were worse for 75, 80 minutes. We played very badly from behind and when we came out we couldn’t keep the ball for more than five seconds. Those two things make it difficult to defend. So, unfortunately, you run after them more than you’d like.”ó.

Despite PSG’s superiority in the first leg, recognized by Kroos himself, he sees Real Madrid capable of coming back. “It’s a marker that can be turned around. We have high hopes for the second leg. The tie is 1-0. We have 90 minutes and we will give everything,” he said.
