This is confirmed by the artist’s press team through a statement: “Shakira’s communication team confirms that the singer’s father, William Mebarak Chadid, is hospitalized at the Teknon-Quirón clinic in Barcelona. Details about his state of health are of a reserved nature, so the family asks for respect at this time while waiting to see his evolution.

At the end of May, the artist was photographed in an ambulance. Then there was speculation about her own state of health, since it was commented that she had suffered a nervous breakdown due to the breakup with Pique. A week later, Shakira used her social networks to explain what had happened: her father had suffered a spectacular fall.

Since she had the accident, the artist has shared her father’s small advances on her social networks. In addition, Shakira dedicated some emotional words to him along with a video in which he helped him exercise his speech: “You taught us to get up after each fall and this time we know you are going to do it. We love you,” she wrote.
