Matos improves but will not be against Ponferradina

Málaga continues to prepare for Saturday's game against Ponferradina at La Rosaleda (8:30 p.m.). The session this Wednesday had the novelty of José Joaquín Matos, who has done the first part of the training with the group and then he has continued to do specific work to recover from the muscle injury that is dragging the hamstrings of his left leg.

The left-back is in clear improvement and begins to see the light at the end of the tunnel, although his return to the pitch will have to wait a little longer. From the outset, your options of being ready to enter the weekend's call are almost non-existent. It should not be ruled out, depending on its evolution in the coming days, that it could be available for the match day 23 in Alcorcón.

Pellicer will have Benkhemassa at his command against Ponferradina, who this Wednesday completed his second day of work at the same pace as his teammates and has already left behind the low back pain that separated him from the league clash against Oviedo. Mejías is also in perfect condition, who has trained normally after doing a softer session this Tuesday due to a slight discomfort. In the infirmary, however, Hicham and Julio continue, who alternated work in the gym with continuous running on the grass.

Larrubia and Ale Benítez, in quarantine

A positive from a member of the Atlético Malagueño coaching staff has forced the training of the Málaga subsidiary to stop and the entire squad is in quarantine as established by the health protocol. Among the confined players are Larrubia and Ale Benítez, which on Sunday participated in the second part of the Torremolinos Youth – Atlético Malagueño that had been suspended weeks ago due to heavy rains.

The goal Gonzalo is also confined, another regular in Málaga's first team sessions such as Larrubia and Ale Benítez, who have played several official matches this season with Málaga. This has led Pellicer to pull the youth Andrés (central) and Juanlu (left back) and the goal of the subsidiary Miguel de la Osa to complete the session.

The blue and white subsidiary will not be able to compete and will exercise individually and electronically until the situation is normalized.
