Matheus Cunha, new option for Atlético's forward

Atlético continues working on the search for a forward who complement Luis Suárez, can give him rest, company upstairs or replace him when he is not there. Many are the names that have been related to the rojiblanco club, and from Italy they point to a new alternative: Matheus Cunha.

The 22-year-old Brazilian forward scored the first goal of the final of the Olympic Games against the National Team, a match that ended with the South American team taking gold in extra time thanks to a goal from Malcom. Cunha plays for Hertha Berlin and last season he had 8 goals and 8 assists. Its market value is 30 million, according to the Transfermarkt website. Sky Sport journalist Matteo Moretto indicated that the Brazilian is an alternative for Dusan Vlahovic, about which Atlético awaits a response from Fiorentina and would be getting impatient.

The Serbian was uncovered last season with 21 goals in Serie A and he is Andrea Berta's favorite because of his future (20 years) and leading qualities. But Fiorentina's claims are very high, and Atlético would have already issued an offer of 60 million that has not yet been accepted. While, Vlahovic continues his business and made his cup debut this season with a double. Rafa Mir, who faced Cunha in the final of the Olympic Games, was very close to being rojiblanco, but currently the agreement with Wolverhampton has not taken place. And Simeone would be delighted of a return of Griezmann, but the departure of Messi from Barcelona complicates his incorporation even more.

Atlético is looking for a battering ram and still has 15 days ahead to incorporate a booster. He works in various profiles, beyond Griezmann on young players with a future ahead. Cunha, like Maxi Gómez, would have the disadvantage of occupying an extra-community position, which would definitively close the doors to Nehuén and Arias (Felipe and Lodi occupy two places). The Brazilian adds his name to the mattress agenda while Correa continues to put the equipment on his back and got a key double to start LaLiga with a victory in Balaídos.
