Mastering Back-To-Backs, KoPPitar, PP Success, Goo To Mo, and TV Schedule for December 20

The Kings and Kraken played each other not long ago, and LA beat Seattle 3-2 at Climate Pledge Arena in Washington.

With an assist in the very first period, Kevin Fiala got his 11th assist of the season against the Kraken. This is the second most assists in NHL history against Seattle.

Anze Kopitar or Trevor Moore scored goals for the Kings against the Kraken in their last game. Carl Grundstrom tallied the winning goal during the shootout.

We think goalie Cam Talbot will start tonight since he didn’t play last night. Talbot got the win over Seattle upon Saturday, making his record against the Kraken 2-2-0 all-time.

Talbot has played four times against Seattle and has a.894 save percentage and a 2.90 goals-against average.

During the third quarter, all 12 players played for between four and six minutes. None of them were less than 4:22 or more than 5:48.

Seattle has lost more NHL games in OT or shootout situations than any other team (9). Frank Bjorkstrand, a forward, has scored five points in his last three games, giving him the team lead within scoring this season.

In the NHL, Vince Dunn is tied for ninth place with 21 helpers so far this season. Following last night’s game, Todd McLellan admitted that the third period within San Jose was a good time for a back-to-back.

On the first night, the Kings were in charge of the game as they led 3-0. That let them set the lines however they wanted, which was especially helpful since the second game was set for 24 hours later.

He said, “You hope for that; you don’t always get it, yet once you’re up 3-0 and in charge, you can play everyone.” “With back-to-back games, that couldn’t have gone any better.”

Even though the ice time wasn’t evenly spread out that night, only one forward had less than 12 minutes and only two had more than 17. Kevin Fiala played 17:33, which was the most of any forward.

That’s a great way to start a back-to-back set, which included going home from San Jose last night.

Though the Kings got off the plane just after midnight and will spend the night in their personal beds, it was still some travel.

As the Kings move into the second half, it will depend on how they played between games and how they present themselves tonight.

“It will always depend on how the guys perform after rest and how ready they are for doing it all over again,” McLellan said.

Anze Kopitar, a forward, has scored a power-play goal in three straight games. The Kings have scored a power-play goal in six straight games. Being in the right place at the right time and spotting the puck is definitely a skill.

There are a lot of players involved, but Kopitar has scored the game-winning goal against Winnipeg, Seattle, or San Jose.

Kopitar makes great use of his size within and surrounding the net, and he’s on track to have a few of the best goal-scoring seasons for his career right now.

Kopitar has scored three power play goals. None of them have been show-stopping, but that doesn’t mean they were easy. Kopitar is very good at knowing when to be somewhere and when to finish something quickly.

For forward Quinton Byfield, putting those in was a lot harder than he thought. “Even if you’re in the right place at the right time, you can lose the puck when there’s a pass by means of a defender.”

While most of the first unit has scored all six goals, it was Arthur Kaliyev, fresh off the bench, who made the smart play last night. He won the puck back below the penalty line and then set up Kopitar for the goal.

Todd McLellan thinks that recent success has come from taking a balanced approach and wanting to score goals like Kopitar’s. In those six games, seven various individuals have scored at least one power-play goal.

“Both units are important; we need 10–12 players who can do their jobs,” he said. “I believe we’re moving away from the idea that we always need to score pretty.”

Kopi worked hard to reach his goal, even though it wasn’t pretty. Because of this, we’re putting in more than we have before, and we’ll try to keep it up.
