MADRID, 6 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish tennis player Rebeka Masarova continues on a roll after advancing this Friday to the semifinals of the ASB Classic tournament in Auckland (New Zealand), on hard court and in the WTA 250 category, with a hard-fought victory -7(7)-6(4) and 7(7)-6(2)- over the Czech Karolina Muchova.
Masarova, number 130 in the WTA ranking, got rid of Muchova, number 151 in the world, in a match in which equality dominated, with two ‘tie-breaks’. Trusting a large part of her options to her powerful serve, the Basel-born tennis player recovered a ‘break’ in the first set.
And in the second set he showed the strength to maintain a high pace and celebrate his pass to the semifinals, after a match of more than two hours that was unprecedented. The Spanish will fight to advance to the final against the Belgian Ysaline Bonaventure, in a duel in which a victory would allow her to enter the ‘top 100’.
