Martínez and Munar fall in the first round in Sofia

The Spaniard Pedro Martínez fell in the first round of the Sofia tournament by succumbing to Serbian Laslo Djere, 7-6 (5) and 6-3, in one hour and fifty-three minutes.

The Valencian tennis player, who has just won the Challenger tournament in Seville, saved up to four set points in a very close first set, but finally gave up in the tie-break for a tight 7-5.

The second set started badly for the Spanish tennis player who already gave up his first serve to a much more decisive Djere on the court. So much so that the Serbian took a wide 4-1 lead in the second set. Djere lowered the intensity in the last games, but the two breaks achieved served him to close the set and the match with a 6-3.

The Serbian tennis player will face the winner of the duel between Italian Lorenzo Musetti and Bulgarian Alexandar Lazarov, invited by the organization, in the second round.

Munar, also eliminated

The Balearic player could not overcome his debut against the American Marcos Giron, who did not lose his serve and came back a set to finish winning after almost three hours of play by 6-7 (2), 6-1, 6-4.
