FC Barcelona Femení confirmed this Friday the agreement reached to renew defender Marta Torrejón for one more season, until June 30, 2025, in relation to a player who is playing her 11th season with the Blaugrana shirt.
Torrejón, second captain of the culé squad, is currently the second player with the most games played for Barça Femení and has won a total of 24 titles in her ranks. On its website, Barça pointed out that the Catalan defender “has lived from within the entire evolution of Barça women's football.”
“The 2023/14 season arrived at Barça and she has played a total of 411 games as a 'culer', being the second player with the most games played: 289 in the League, 75 in the Champions League – she holds the record for games with Barça – , 29 from the Queen's Cup, seven from the Spanish Super Cup and 11 from the Catalunya Cup,” the press release stated.
She is only ahead of Melanie Serrano, with a total of 517 games played, and just behind is Alexia Putellas, with a total of 408. “The Barça '8', despite being a defender, has accumulated 64 goals in her career as a Barça player, The 2020/21 season being the one that scored the most goals with a total of 12,” Barça indicated in its note.
Torrejón's 24 titles with Barça are divided into: two Champions Leagues, six Leagues, six Queen's Cups, four Spanish Super Cups and six Catalunya Cups. The record for titles is also held by Serrano, with 28, while Putellas has won 27.
