Marquès, Dmytriv, Delgado, Zudaire, Ponce and Llopis, qualified for the Paris Paralympic Games

The Spanish swimmers Nuria Marqués, Anastasiya Dmytriv, María Delgado, Nahia Zudaire, Toni Ponce and Íñigo Llopis have already officially qualified to compete in the Paralympic Games to be held in Paris next year, as determined by the General Assembly of the Spanish Paralympic Committee ( CPE) meeting this Wednesday.

The organization approved a battery of measures related to the event in the French capital, including those related to the minimum qualifying marks for athletics and swimming. According to the ratified document, these six swimmers have already secured their ticket to Paris after having reached the minimum 'A' mark after November 15, the date of entry into force of these criteria, as reported by the CPE.

In addition, six other swimmers, Teresa Perales, Sarai Gascón, José Antonio Marí, Jacobo Garrido, Beatriz Lérida and Iván Salguero have the minimum B, less demanding, but which does not guarantee attendance at the Games unless all places are not filled. with minimum A.

So far, the Spanish Paralympic Team has achieved 41 qualifying places for this event in a total of eight sports disciplines. Nine of them correspond to swimming, five men's and four women's, achieved at the 2023 Manchester World Cup, while the rest of the quota will be assigned through a global proration system and will be communicated to the countries on February 16. “To distribute them among Spanish swimmers, the same system of minimum marks A and B will be followed,” the CPE noted.

In addition, wheelchair basketball also has the men's team qualified, runner-up in Europe, and athletics has already qualified Yassine Ouhdadi, Adiaratou Iglesias, Gerard Descarrega, Sara Andrés, Nagore Folgado, Álvaro del Amo and Joan Munar, although All of them must confirm their good form in 2024, and there are three other non-nominal places available. In the next World Cup, scheduled for mid-May in Japan (Kobe), there will be a new distribution of quotas that, like in swimming, will be distributed nationally through minimum marks A and B, the latter only held by the marathon runner Alberto Suarez.

The Canoeing World Cup last August left six tickets for Spain (two women's in kayak KL2 and KL3, and four men's in KL1 and KL3 and canoe VL2 and VL3) and it will be the Royal Spanish Canoeing Federation who will designate the best prepared athletes to occupy them after the 2024 World Cup.

Cycling, taekwondo, with Dalia Santiago, Paralympic shooting, with Juan Antonio Saavedra, and archery, in the men's compound bow modality, also have a safe ticket for the Paris Paralympic Games. Blind 5-a-side football, goalball, wheelchair rugby and sitting volleyball no longer have classification options, while equestrian, badminton, fencing, judo, weightlifting, triathlon and wheelchair tennis will depend on their international rankings. .

Finally, in rowing it will depend on the continental qualifying regatta in Hungary, in boccia the classification will be through a list on January 1 and a world qualifying tournament in March, and in table tennis, by a list that will be released on January 1. April and for a pre-Olympic tournament in May.

On the other hand, the General Assembly of the Spanish Paralympic Committee, which was attended by its Honorary President, HRH Infanta Elena, through a video call, also approved measures related to the new ADOP Plan, the budgets, the hospitality and communication.
