Marisa Villa resigns as head of female refereeing

Last Tuesday we announced in the Sports World that Marisa Villa, a former Spanish collegiate, went on to become the new head of the female refereeing. The figure of reference for all the female colleges and assistants who are currently in our football. Both from the elite and the lower ranks.

In this way, Marisa Villa left the position that she had been carrying out with the former president of the CTA, Velasco Carballo, during which time she had been assuming the instructional tasks of the assistants of the First and Second division of men’s soccer. Work that has been developing together with the former international collegiate Alberto Undiano Mallenco.

Marisa Villa was the first woman in our country to reach the First Division, although she could not referee because she did not pass the physical tests. There is no doubt that to this day it continues to be a reference figure in what affects female refereeing.

However, in the end she will not carry out this role for which she had been chosen. As this newspaper has been able to be, Marisa Villa has resigned from this position and the proposal forwarded by the head of the arbitration establishment to be the new person in charge of the female arbitration. A change that is within the bet for the female refereeing of Luis Medina Cantalejo and whose objective is to be able to see a woman whistling in the First division.

Last Wednesday he informed the Andalusian of his resignation, abandoning his position within the technical structure of the CTA where he arrived from the hand of the former president of the RFEF, Ángel María Villar. The former Ciudad Real referee will be able to continue her duties as a refereeing instructor in women’s football in both FIFA and UEFA.

Fernández Borbalán also resigns from his position

It is not the only arbitration figure that has decided to leave the arbitration body on its own initiative. Also the former Andalusian international referee David Fernández Borbalán has disassociated himself from the arbitration structure of the CTA. Specifically, of the functions that he had been carrying out together with the former arbitrator Vicente Lizondo Cortés as responsible for the arbitration of the First RFEF. Borbalán also came to the arbitration establishment at the hands of former president Velasco Carballo and has decided to resign his position with this change.
