Marini sends en Cheste with Bagnaia y Quartararo midiéndose

Augusto Fernández takes advantage over Ogura in Moto2

MADRID, 4 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Italian Luca Marini (Ducati), in MotoGP; the Spanish Pedro Acosta (Kalex), in Moto2; and the Japanese Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda), in Moto3, have led the first day of free practice of the Grand Prix of the Valencian Community, the last round of the Motorcycle World Championship and in which Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), in the queen category, and Augusto Fernández (Kalex) and Ai Ogura (Kalex), in the intermediate category, are fighting for their respective titles.

At the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste, the two contenders for the MotoGP throne continue to compete after two sessions in which the rider from Nice surpassed ‘Pecco’. The first place in FP1, combined with the Italian’s seventeenth, made him champion, but in the afternoon Quartararo fell to eighth place, just ahead of Bagnaia.

The numbers offer an advantage to the transalpine, who dominates the general with 258 points, 23 ahead of his only opponent. To revalidate the title, the ‘Devil’ must win in Cheste, and wait for his nerves to play tricks on a Bagnaia who is better off finishing in the top 14. ‘Pecco’ aspires to give the first MotoGP title to his country 13 years after Valentino Rossi won it for the last time.

The Ducatis of Marini, the Spaniard Jorge Martín and the Australian Jack Miller, have positioned themselves in front, and they could respond to the team’s orders in case ‘Pecco’ needs ‘help’. Meanwhile, Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) managed to finish the day fourth, ahead of another bike from Borgo Panigale like that of Enea Bastianini, who is looking to snatch third place from an Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) who finished thirteenth in the combined times .

Meanwhile, Suzuki, who says goodbye to the World Championship, placed Alex Rins eleventh and Joan Mir fourteenth, and Pol Espargaró, who also says goodbye to Repsol Honda, could only be eighteenth, just behind another ‘ex’ of his team, Alex Marquez (Honda)

AUGUSTO FERNÁNDEZ TAKES ADVANTAGE OVER BUY

In Moto2, where Pedro Acosta (Kalex) was the fastest ahead of Augusto Fernández (Kalex), current leader of the intermediate category and who thus takes advantage of the Japanese Ai Ogura (Kalex), eleventh this Friday in Cheste. The Spaniard accumulates 251.5 points, 9.5 more than the Japanese, so it would be worth being on the podium after the race to be crowned Moto2 champion.

Alonso López (Boscoscuro) completed the ‘Top 3’ of the day, with Borja Gómez (Kalex) and Albert Arenas (Kalex) getting into the top ten of the day -ninth and tenth, respectively-. For their part, Fermín Aldeguer (Boscoscuro), Arón Canet (Kalex) and Alex Escrig (MV Augusta) took the positions from twelfth to fourteenth, the last ones to avoid going through Q1.

In Moto3, the only category that already has a champion, the Japanese Tatsuki
Suzuki (Honda) set the fastest time of the day, leading a combination that was followed by the Italian Dennis Foggia (Honda), who is still fighting for the runner-up position, and the Spanish Izan Guevara (GasGas), relieved of all pressure after conquering the title at Phillip Island.

His teammate Sergio García Dols (GasGas), who is trying to defend his second place overall, finished sixth on the day, with Carlos Tatay (CFMoto), fourth; David Salvador (Husqvarna), seventh; Xavi Artigas (CFMoto), eighth; and Dani Holgado (KTM), ninth, in the ‘Top 10’.
