Marcus Rashford “takes responsibility for actions” after the trip to Belfast and is available over Manchester United to pick.

Manchester United say that Marcus Rashford has “taken responsibility for his actions” and will be able to play on Thursday when they go to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Athletic said Rashford drove out in Belfast on Thursday night and then said he was too sick to go to Manchester United the next day. United says that the matter of discipline has been taken care of internally as well as is now over.

The 26-year-old will go back to training and is once again in the running for a starting spot. He was not in the squad for Sunday’s FA Cup fourth-round win over Newport County.

Rashford met with his brother or agent Dwaine Maynard, football head John Murtough, and Erik ten Hag, the manager, at Carrington on Monday. United wanted to find out what happened in Belfast last week.

Sir Dave Brailsford was speaking to the United team separately on Monday. He talked about INEOS’s approach to sports excellence and how important standards are.

The club said on Monday that it had dealt with a “disciplinary matter” involving the England striker. His team beat Newport 4–2 in the final of the FA Cup on Sunday, but Rashford wasn’t there because United said he was too sick to play.

After the game, the manager, Erik Ten Hag, said he would have to deal with the forward because of what he was said to have done in the week before the game.

Rashford will be able to play on Thursday when United faces Wolves in the English Premier League.

Marcus has admitted guilt for what he did. United said on Monday, “This has been resolved an internal discipline matter, that is now closed.” It wasn’t clear if he was fined.

A few weeks ago, Ten Hag said it was wrong for Rashford to join in with birthday celebrations once United lost to Manchester City.

In a meeting with Carrington on Monday, Rashford was asked to clarify the trip and make it clear when he would be there.

Marcus Rashford is going to be available for Manchester United’s Premier League game against Wolves on Thursday after talking with manager Erik ten Hag to clear the air.

After Rashford was seen last week at a nightclub in Belfast, Ten Hag, football director John Murtough, and Rashford’s brother or agent, Dwaine, all talked to him.

On Monday night, the club said in a statement, “Marcus accepted responsibility for his actions.” In-house discipline was used to handle this, and it is now closed.

The club thought Rashford had been to Belfast on Wednesday night before his planned day off on Thursday, which happened on Friday.

Since then, there have been claims that he was there on Thursday night before telling United that he was sick and couldn’t train on Friday.

Then, on Sunday, he wasn’t with the team for the 4–2 FA Cup win over Newport County. He missed rehearsals on Friday and Saturday. Rashford could train at Holt on Sunday, though.

There’s been trouble between Rashford and Ten Hag before. In October, the 26-year-old went to a birthday party held at a Manchester bar just hours after Manchester City beat them 3-0.
