Florentino Pérez, president of the Real Madrid, delivered this Monday at the offices of his company, ACS, to Marcelo vieira a special team shirt to celebrate the fact that he is the Brazilian player who has played the most games for the Whites.
Marcelo has participated, after concluding this season, in 528 games as a Madrid player since he made his debut on January 7, 2007 against Deportivo de La Coruña. It has won five leagues, two King's Cups, four Spanish Super Cups, four Champions Leagues, three continental Super Cups and four FIFA Club World Cups.
“An indescribable moment, being the Brazilian with the most matches in the Real Madrid“, he published on his official social media account under the photograph in which he holds the white shirt together with the Madrid president.
Marcelo, 33, is the second foreigner with the most appearances as a player of the Real Madrid after the french Karim Benzema (559), and with one more than his compatriot Roberto Carlos.
The contract ends next June 2022 and in recent seasons he has been losing prominence in the team. In fact, this season he has participated in only nineteen games, four less than the previous one, figures significantly lower than in previous seasons, in which he was considered one of the best left-backs in the world.
