Marcelino looks at Europe

Marcelino García Toral is one of the hundreds of coaches who are unemployed. The Asturian coach, still current champion of the Copa del Rey, is without a team after his departure from Valencia on September 11, 2019. And it is not because they have lacked suitors, but because their greatest desire now is to train a club abroad that allows them to compete in European competition.

After having directed Valencia, Villarreal, Seville, Zaragoza… the Asturian coach is looking for a new professional challenge. For that reason has rejected a major offer from Celta a day ago, both sportingly and economically, to take charge of the team after Oscar's resignation. This summer he was also associated with Betis and Espanyol, but nothing came to fruition because of that desire to make the leap to a European club.

That desire to try his luck abroad was about to be fulfilled a few months ago, when reached an agreement in principle with Milan, but the operation fell apart when Zvonimir Boban was dismissed as director of football for the Italian club.
