BARCELONA, 24 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish coach Marcelino García Toral announced this Tuesday that he is no longer coach of Athletic Club, a club he arrived at in January 2021 and became champion of the Spanish Super Cup and double finalist in the Copa del Rey, considering that it was the moment to “step aside”.

“We believe that the time has come to step aside and close a beautiful story. We are proud to have enjoyed the privilege of coaching Athletic Club. For us, the time has come to give thanks and say goodbye”, he assured in press conference, in San Mamés.

In this sense, he assured that Athletic is “far above” the people who are punctually, like him, in the club. “After making a thorough analysis of the situation, after evaluating the pros and cons, we have made this decision,” he spoke on behalf of his coaching staff.
