Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos win the doubles tournament in Halle

MADRID, 19 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The couple formed by the Spaniard Marcel Granollers and the Argentine Horacio Zeballos has conquered this Sunday the tournament in Halle (Germany), in the ATP 500 category that is played on grass, after beating the duo made up of the German Tim Puetz and New Zealander Michael Venus 6-4, 6-7(5) and 14-12.

Granollers, number 5 in the ATP doubles ranking, lifted his first title of the season this Sunday after a hard-fought match with Zeballos. Both raised two match points and were able to certify their victory in a very close third set.

The victory relaunches the Spanish-Argentine couple before facing the third ‘Grand Slam’ of the season: Wimbledon, where last season they were proclaimed runners-up. It is the twenty-fourth title in the career of Marcel Granollers, 36 years old.
