Marc Márquez will race in 2024 with a Gresini Racing Ducati

MADRID, 12 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez will race next season in the Motorcycle World Championship with a Ducati from the Gresini Racing team, his chosen destination after leaving Repsol Honda and where he will once again share the box with his brother Alex.

“The Gresini Family is pleased to announce the arrival of Marc Márquez for the 2024 season. The Spanish rider, several times world champion, recently announced his separation from Honda and starting next season he will be the new flag bearer of Team Gresini MotoGP alongside his brother Alex,” confirmed the Italian team.

Gresini Racing celebrated having in 2024 “a dream couple formed by the Márquez brothers” and stressed that the eight-time world champion will compete “with a satellite team that has already shown that it belongs to the best since the squad’s return to the independent team status in the ‘queen’ category.

“I am excited about this new challenge. It has not been an easy decision because it is a big change in every way, but sometimes in life it is important to get out of the comfort zone and test yourself to continue growing,” said the pilot. de Cervera in the statement of his new team, in which he will replace the Italian Fabio di Giannantonio.

The Catalan knows that he will have to “adapt” his riding style “to some things” due to the characteristics of the Ducati, a different motorcycle from the Honda. “It won’t be easy, but I am also sure that the entire Gresini team will help me a lot. I am looking forward to meeting the team and starting to work with them. I would like to thank Nadia (Padovani, team owner), Carlo (Merlini, Commercial and Marketing Director) and Michele Masini (Team Manager) for the trust and respect they have shown me,” he stressed.

For her part, Nadia Padovani considered this signing “a historic moment for the Gresini family.” “The fact that Marc Márquez has chosen to race with us next season is absolutely fantastic and I am very happy to be able to make it official,” she said.

“In less than a season we have become very close to his brother and we will welcome Marc in the same way, as we are sure that he has all the potential to be competitive in the ‘GP23’ from the first moment. Finally, but no less important, I would like to thank Fabio Di Giannantonio for his professionalism, and we wish him all the best for the continuation of his career,” he said.

Marc Márquez announced last week that he was leaving the Repsol Honda team at the end of this 2023 season, ending an eleven-year union in which he had become MotoGP champion six times. Now, he reunites with his brother Alex, with whom he was already in the official team of the golden wing brand in 2020, although they were barely able to run together due to the fall suffered by Marc at the beginning of the season and which started his physical ordeal.
