Marc Márquez: “Our bike will adapt better to Valencia than to Sepang”

MADRID, 1 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) stated this Tuesday that his bike “will adapt better” to the Valencia Grand Prix than to the Sepang circuit, so he hopes “to be closer to the front riders”, in which it will be the last race “of a long and very different year”.

“The last race of a long year and very different. We have been learning every weekend since we came back and that is the goal again for this race. I think our bike will suit Valencia better than Sepang, so I hope that we can be closer to the front riders”, analyzed the eight-time world champion in statements shared by Repsol.

The rider from Cervera arrives at the last circuit of the World Championship, a track where he has won three times -in 2012 in Moto2 and in 2014 and 2019 in MotoGP-, has finished second twice -2015 and 2016 in MotoGP- and third also twice -2013 and 2017 in MotoGP-. In addition, Valencia has been the scene of the achievement of two of the six MotoGP World titles of Márquez in 2013 and 2017.

“It is a track where I have had good results in the past and where there are very close races due to its layout. Be that as it may, I think it will be an exciting weekend for the fans, with the Moto2 titles and MotoGP at stake,” he said.

For his part, his teammate Pol Espargaró also acknowledged that he will experience a “very emotional weekend” in Valencia, “the last one with the Repsol Honda team”. “I want to thank everyone within HRC, Repsol and the team for these two years. Together we have experienced incredible moments and we have fought to overcome the most difficult ones”, he applauded.

“Valencia is a circuit that I like very much, last year we were not lucky there, but I want to say goodbye to everyone with a strong weekend. We are going to enjoy this last race and focus on the positive things we have achieved together”, settled Espargaró , who faces his last Grand Prix as a Repsol Honda rider, on a track where he has accumulated four podium finishes.
