“I am very happy with how the whole Grand Prix went. In the end we were able to have a great race. The most significant thing is that it has been a very productive weekend and, above all, better than we expected. It has been a very important race because it’s the first I’ve been able to finish since my operation, so it’s been a good way to test my arm. Of course I would have liked to finish higher, but realistically, it’s been a great result: I’ve been able to keep the pace and attack in the last laps,” he said in statements provided by his team.

In addition, the man from Cervera thanked all the Honda workers on his return to Japan after three years out of the championship due to COVID-19. “I want to thank HRC and the Repsol Honda team for helping me get through such a positive weekend. “After six or seven laps behind him my performance has dropped, allowing some riders to pass me and losing my pace a bit. The tires have worn down and I have started to suffer. But we are left with the positive: we have been strong in the We have improved compared to Aragón and we will try to take another step forward next week”, he concluded.
