MADRID, 16 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) pointed out that Johann Zarco (Ducati) was able to “avoid” the clash between the two this Friday in free practice for the German Grand Prix, where he also regretted being “suffering with rear grip”.
“It is costing us more than normal, I already sensed that it would be like this, although I hoped to save it a bit as it is a circuit that I like,” he said in statements provided by his team, after a fourteenth place in free practice.
“I am suffering a lot with the rear grip, we have had many scares that take away your confidence and make you not push as much. These are situations that produce hot reactions, which is normal considering the level of adrenaline we reached,” he added.
Márquez was also badly stopped by an accident with Zarzo in which “luckily” there were no injuries. “In the crash, if anyone could avoid the situation, it was him. My fall was clean, but the driver who comes out of the box has to look before joining. If a driver comes on a fast lap, you stay in the box line. Luckily, we have come out unharmed,” he said.
“The moment you fall with a driver, if you see that he is fine, but he stays on the track, you cannot go: you hinder the commissioners and make the situation more dangerous. Later, I did go to see him and I’ve been worried,” he added.
All in all, the man from Cervera hopes to improve on a track where he has won 11 times. “Tomorrow we will see what potential we have. Today I went to the limit to try to be in front no matter how much I like the circuit, but we are working now to improve the situation tomorrow. We have to understand why we have had so many scares”, he finished.
