Marc Márquez: “I got a lap behind Bagnaia, it’s how we have to do it”

MADRID, 17 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) acknowledged that the Qatar Grand Prix started “better” than he expected, although thanks to following in the footsteps of Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati) to achieve the tenth best time in free practice and go direct to Q2.

“It was a better day than we expected when we arrived. Being in the Top 10 and qualifying directly for Q2 is really good news. I was able to get a good lap behind Pecco because that’s how we have to do it.” , he said in statements provided by his team.

The man from Cervera explained that he still has to reveal his bet with the tires and know his pace to look for a good position on Saturday and Sunday in Lusail. “Tomorrow we will try to maintain the position and understand how the track behaves before and during the sprint race,” he said.

“We have to see which is the best set of tires for the time attack and continue adapting to the changing track conditions. For now we can be happy with what we have done,” he concluded.
