Marc Márquez: “Honda riders need help from Japan”

MADRID, 12 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) has assured that the Honda riders need “help from Japan” and that there be “some change” to be able to fight for the Motorcycle World Championship, since at the moment they are “suffering” , and has announced that a CT scan will be performed at the end of August to determine how his recovery is progressing.

“We Honda riders need help from Japan, for there to be some change. All the riders are suffering. What I have ridden this year was also suffering, not only because of my arm but because I didn’t feel good on the bike either, and This is where we are forced to make a change and fight for the World Cup in the coming seasons,” he said in an interview with DAZN.

Regarding his recovery after undergoing his fourth humerus operation, he explained that a CT scan will be performed at the end of August where the evolution of the bone will be seen. “It will give us the answer as to whether we can increase the recovery or not. If for X reason I have to extend the recovery for two weeks, I will have to do it, because I cannot throw away all the work that has been done so far,” he stressed.

“When the doctors say ‘ok’ and I’m strong enough, one of the first things I’ll do is ride a motorcycle, because that’s where the specific muscles you need will work best and we’ll be able to reach 100% as soon as possible.” , he continued.

In another order of things, the one from Cervera assured that it is being “an interesting year at the level of signings”. “There are many movements. The riders who used to be Honda have moved, my brother to Ducati, Pol to KTM… There are two free places left, one will be occupied by Alex Rins, a great rider as he showed at Silverstone, where he was at a great level It seems, that’s what they say, that the next Repsol Honda will be for Joan Mir. There is nothing confirmed, at least as far as I know,” he said.

Finally, Márquez commented on the situation of his brother Alex at Honda. “We live together and talking to him, he needed a different motivation. It’s hard to stay motivated competing and falling so far behind,” he concluded.
